The “Beneficial Border” is a garden installation bordering New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill’s perennial path and historic orchard. Post construction of the Perenial path in the interior of the formal garden we were left with large amounts of damage to both the bordering meadow along the garden as well as massive compaction in the proposed planting area for the beneficial border. My responsibility in this project was re-grading the entire planting area, installing irrigation for the new planting, Installing the “beneficial border path” of crushed stone and stone dust as well as restoring the bordering meadow that had been damaged by Constuction. With my experience running the heavy equipment as well as various support from team members the beneficial borer was able to be planted by the formal garden team that following season. This was one of the first few meadow restorations I handled by hydroseeding in house with great success on germination even in its very first season, we expect even better establishment in years to come. You can read more about the project here on the garden’s blog The Beneficial Border: Building a Pollinator’s Paradise - New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill
